Never Quit: Trust in God and Keep Moving Forward—Your Breakthrough is Around the Corner

faith and perseverance in business

Fact: In business, the breakthrough people celebrate is often the part of the story everyone sees. What they don’t see are the years of uncertainty, setbacks, sacrifice, sleepless nights, difficult decisions, and faith that came before it.

I know because I lived it.

My breakthrough didn’t happen in six months.

It didn’t happen in a year.

It took 15 years.

There were plenty of trials and tribulations along the way. There were moments when quitting probably would’ve been easier than continuing.

But I kept moving forward.

Eventually, the business became a four-time Inc. 5000 growth firm, achieved 370% growth over four years, and was ultimately sold to a Fortune 500 company.

Looking back, one lesson stands above almost everything else:

Never quit. Trust in God. Keep moving forward. Your breakthrough may be right around the corner.

Nobody Sees the 15 + Years Behind the Success

When people hear about a successful exit, they naturally focus on the finish line.

They see the growth.

They see the Inc. 5000 recognition.

They see 370%.

They see the acquisition.

What they don’t see is everything that happened before those milestones.

That’s the part of entrepreneurship we don’t talk about enough.

Building a business can test you financially, emotionally, professionally, and personally. You’ll make mistakes. You’ll trust the wrong people. You’ll pursue opportunities that don’t work. Great plans will sometimes produce disappointing results.

There will be mornings when you’re excited to get to work.

There may also be mornings when you wonder:

“How much longer can I keep doing this?”

That’s when your “why” matters.

And for me, so did faith.

Trust in God When You Can’t See What’s Next

There’s a big difference between faith and certainty.

Certainty says, “I know exactly what’s going to happen.”

Faith says, “I don’t know exactly what’s going to happen, but I’m going to trust God and keep moving.”

That’s much harder.

There were times during those 15 years when I couldn’t see the finish line. I certainly couldn’t see a Fortune 500 company waiting somewhere down the road.

All I could see was the next challenge.

So, what do you do?

You take the next step.

You pray.

You work.

You learn.

You adjust.

You get knocked down.

And you get back up.

Faith doesn’t mean you sit on the sidelines waiting for God to build your business for you.

You’ve still got work to do.

Trust God—and then get moving.

Never Quit Doesn’t Mean Never Change

Here’s an important distinction.

When I say never quit, I don’t mean you should blindly keep doing something that isn’t working.

That’s not perseverance. That’s stubbornness.

Successful entrepreneurs adjust.

Sometimes you need to change the strategy.

Sometimes you need different people.

Sometimes you need to rethink your pricing, improve your marketing, strengthen operations, change your sales process, or have a difficult conversation you’ve been avoiding.

The destination may remain the same while the route changes dramatically.

That’s something we emphasize through 10XCoach.ai and Business Health Matters.

When things aren’t working, don’t immediately ask:

“Should I quit?”

Ask:

“What needs to change?”

That’s a very different question.

Your Numbers Tell a Story—Listen to Them

Faith and business discipline aren’t opposites.

You need both.

I believe in trusting God, but I also believe you need to know your numbers.

Revenue matters.

Profitability matters.

Cash flow matters.

Customer retention matters.

Sales conversion matters.

Employee performance matters.

Your business is constantly telling you a story through its numbers.

Listen to it.

That mindset helped turn years of effort into meaningful growth.

The eventual result was 370% growth over four years, recognition as a four-time Inc. 5000 growth firm, and ultimately a sale to a Fortune 500 company.

But those achievements weren’t created on the day they were announced.

They were built through thousands of decisions made when nobody was watching.

That’s where breakthroughs really begin.

What If I Had Quit in Year 14?

I’ve thought about this question.

What if I had stopped one year too early?

What if the frustration had won?

What if one difficult season convinced me that the previous 14 years had been wasted?

The outcome could’ve been very different.

That’s why I want entrepreneurs reading this to remember something:

You don’t always know how close you are.

Your next phone call could create an opportunity.

Your next customer could change your trajectory.

Your next employee could become an extraordinary leader.

Your next strategy could unlock growth.

Your next introduction could eventually lead to an acquisition.

You simply don’t know.

And that’s precisely why you keep moving.

Sometimes You Don’t Need to Quit—You Need Perspective

Entrepreneurs can become incredibly isolated.

You’re carrying payroll.

You’re responsible for customers.

Employees are looking to you.

Your family knows you’re under pressure, but they may not understand every detail.

After a while, everything can feel like it’s sitting on your shoulders.

That’s when perspective becomes incredibly valuable.

At 10XCoach.ai, we believe great coaching isn’t about somebody standing on the sidelines yelling, “Work harder!”

Most entrepreneurs I know already work hard.

Better coaching asks better questions:

What’s really holding you back?

What do the numbers tell you?

What’s the biggest obstacle?

What decision are you avoiding?

What’s the next action?

And perhaps most importantly:

Are you really ready to quit—or are you simply tired?

Sometimes you don’t need a new dream.

You need renewed clarity.

Your Breakthrough May Be Around the Corner

After 15 years, I learned that success isn’t always about being the smartest person in the room.

It’s about resilience.

It’s about learning.

It’s about surrounding yourself with good people.

It’s about having the humility to change when something isn’t working.

It’s about discipline when motivation disappears.

And, for me, it’s about trusting God even when I can’t see the entire road ahead.

So, if you’re going through a difficult season right now, don’t assume the difficulty means you’re headed in the wrong direction.

Evaluate the business.

Know your numbers.

Get advice.

Make the difficult decisions.

Change what needs changing.

But don’t allow today’s frustration to steal tomorrow’s opportunity.

My journey took 15 years.

It eventually led to four Inc. 5000 growth recognitions, 370% four-year growth, and a sale to a Fortune 500 company.

But there was a time when none of those achievements existed.

There was simply another day.

Another challenge.

Another decision.

And another opportunity to keep going.

That’s entrepreneurship.

That’s faith.

That’s perseverance.

So today, wherever you are in your journey, remember:

Never quit.

Trust in God.

Keep moving forward.

Because the breakthrough you’ve been praying for, working for, sacrificing for, and refusing to give up on…

may be right around the corner.
